Sacramento County Homes and Land

Including Sacramento and several local residential "boom towns" such as Elk Grove and Folsom, Sacramento County is home to 1.2 million people -- and counting! Attracted by the relatively low housing prices, many folks continue to move here from the bay area (or "Silicone Valley" -- as our local radio announcers here tend to mispronounce it).

To be sure, for young first time buyers in the area, the $254,450 median single family home price may hardly seem like a blue plate special, but with the statewide figure for that same house running to $376,260, the odds are good that the Sacramento area will continue to attract buyers to the region. Moreover, as the Sacramento Bee astutely pointed out in a recent article, with the current low interest rates, the total financed cost for a home is actually lower than it was ten years ago, even though prices have risen considerably.
